You nailed this topic IMO.

I read this morning that Apple is now having to defend itself in an Anti-Trust hearing regarding this matter.

As far as an end-user is concerned, it doesn't take an IT admin or programmer to hear the fans come on and your laptop get sluggish when viewing Flash content. If it can do that to a Core-series laptop, what else is it going to my phone besides compromising my mobile experience?

Too many Luddites with a large personal and financial vested interest trying to keep flash alive.

<i>"...the iPhone has totally changed the face of cell phones permanently."</i>

I completely agree. And I get that Apple is held to a higher standard because they're so good. But I still find it strange that no one levels these sorts of criticisms against the other players. I guess maybe it's a sign of success. I'm sure Apple sees it that way.

Excellent assessment of the situation. You bring up a very good point- this really is about Adobe trying to not just "ride on the coat tails of Apple's successful iPhone" but rather, usurp control from the inventor! And I also agree that the iPhone is held up to such a higher standard than every other phone. It is true though, that the iPhone has totally changed the face of cell phones permanently.
