Beginning Tuesday (Hey! That’s today!) I’ll be on vacation for the week. But don’t worry! You’ll still get your regular, US Recommended Daily (well, not quite daily) Allowance of systemsy goodness while I’m gone. How, you say? Well, through the magic of scheduling, of course.
Never trust a blog engine that doesn’t allow you to schedule posts in advance, I always say. And since WordPress certainly has such a feature, I’ve queued up a delightful peppering of articles to amuse, inform and entertain you throughout the week.
Feel free to comment (I know how you love to comment), but bear in mind, I won’t be responding until after I return. So expect delays.
Okay! Off I go!
Whee!

Was it really that hard to find a royalty-free image? Or at least grab a non-watermarked image?
Just strikes me a tacky to use a watermarked image you can buy for ~$10.
Not that I care that much, just had to say something.
Duncan,
Is it really that big a deal? Really?
If you didn’t care that much, why did you have to say something? You obviously either care a great deal, for reasons which you fail to mention, or you are simply a troll.
If there is a serious, legitimate complaint here, please be more specific about it. If you’re just looking for some attention, I have just given it to you, so please go away.

I’m not trolling.
I think what bothers me the most is the watermark; you’ve got a nice graphic there (source immaterial) and it’s marred slightly by the watermark.
I’ve found the quality of your articles to be quite high, and it bugged me because it didn’t seem in line with the normal quality.
Apologies for causing offense; it was not my intent.
Duncan
Duncan,
Thanks for clarifying. It’s much appreciated.
Sorry for the trolling accusations. I had some comments recently that really upset me, and I may have gotten a bit overzealous in my reactions to comments in general.
Because of your comment I’ve realized that I often grab images and post them without attribution, a practice, that, again, thanks to your comments, I’m now evaluating.
I’m also considering posting a code of conduct. Every now and then I get snarky, and/or wholly nonconstructive criticism, and it bothers me a lot.
I’m glad you don’t fall in that column. Thanks again for your response.

Sorry you’ve been getting trolled; that sucks.
Again, thanks for this blog. I’ve liked a lot of your articles, in particular the articles on Portable Home Directories.
Please keep it up.
